mkd STUDIO publishes selected work as long-form volumes when a story earns more than a single study can hold. A publication runs to a hundred pages or more, designed as a digital reader with its own pacing, structure and typography, built specifically for the place or world it documents. Each volume is also produced as a physical book, a printed first edition.
A single photograph can describe a moment. A publication has room to describe something larger. It can hold atmosphere, sequence, rhythm and context in a way that a gallery or a feed cannot. The subject is given the space it deserves, and the reader is given something worth returning to.
The same approach can be commissioned for a hotel, a brand or a house marking a season, an opening or a moment worth keeping. The archive publications are made independently. The commissioned volumes are built to the same standard, for a specific audience, with a specific purpose.
